# Base64DecodeText

The Base64DecodeText function decodes a base64 encoded string to text.&#x20;

### **Syntax**

‌The syntax for the Base64DecodeText function is:

`Base64DecodeText(value, encoding)`

#### ‌**Parameters**

value - the base64 encoded value to decode.

encoding -  the encoding to use as a string (i.e. "UTF-8").&#x20;

If you pass a value that does not match any valid encoding, UTF-8 will be used. The flow environment variable "encodings" contains valid values as shown in the below image:
