Add pages and portlets

Import

It is possible to import pages, containers and portlet. Click the Import button to browse to the place where file to be imported is stored and select the file. Imported portlets will get a unique id.

Portlets are exported by clicking the Export action icon in the portlet header.

Containers are exported by clicking the Export button under Edit - General.

Pages are exported by clicking the export button under Navigation - Export pages.

Add

Pages

Users can create multiple pages in the Portal and customize them according to their requirements, with different content shown on each page.

To create a page:

1. Go into edit mode by clicking open settings panel (the padlock icon)

2. Click add

3. Select new page

4. Drag and drop the new page into the workspace

Portlets

Portlets are the building blocks of Flow Portal. They can be used to present, plan or allow for manipulation of chosen data.

Add portlet

To add a portlet to a page:

1. Go to add in the header menu

2. Drag the desired portlet into the workspace

3. As the portlet is dragged into the work area, possible placements will light up

4. Drop the portlet in the desired location to place it

To move a portlet to a different location on the page, click on the portlet header and drag it to the desired location. Note that other portlets will move to make room for the portlet that's being moved.

Portlets can be resized by dragging the sides or corners.

Once a portlet has been added to the workspace, it can be configured. See the Portlets chapter for more information.

Portlets

The following action icons are available in the portlet header. Some actions are only available for the administrator and in certain portlets or situations.

• Clear Filters - visible when the portlet is filtered. Click the icon to remove the filter.

• Refresh - use to refresh the data in the portlet

• Clear user settings - use to clear all user settings and go back to the default settings for the portlet

• Copy - use to copy a portlet, clicking copy adds the Copy clipboard

• Cut - use to move a portlet, clicking cut adds the portlet to the Cut clipboard

• Export - use to export the portlet

• Export to XLS - click to export to Excel

• Expand - expands the portlets to full-screen view - when in full-screen view Expand will be replaced by Collapse

• Paste - use to paste a portlet to add to or create a container

Containers

A container is a group of two or more portlets which can be used to visualize that information belongs together. Containers are created by using the Cut clipboard, Copy clipboard or by the Paste action in a portlet header. Portlets can be added to a container by using the Paste action in an existing container header.

General information

All containers require a bit of general information to function correctly.

• Title - the container name

• Type - configure how the container should display the portlets

  • horizontally

  • vertically

  • stacked as tabs

• Auto hide header - select this to hide the container header in the portlet

• Export - use to export the container

• Portlets Order - drag and drop the portlets to change the order in which they're displayed

Cut and paste

Use the Cut action icon in the portlet header to cut out a portlet. When cut is used, a Cut clipboard is opened in the bottom left of the portal, containing all the cut portlets. On the page, the cut portlets are indicated with a red dashed frame.

From the clipboard, drag and drop a portlet into its new position or create a container containing all the portlets.

The clipboard is available on all pages within a portal.

The clipboard is closed when all portlets have been dragged and dropped or manually removed from the clipboard.

Copy and paste

Use the Copy action icon in the portlet header to copy a portlet. When copy is used, a Copy clipboard is opened in the bottom left of the portal, containing all the copied portlets. On the page, the copied portlets are indicated with a yellow frame.

From the clipboard, drag and drop a portlet into its new position or create a container containing all the portlets.

The clipboard is available on all pages within a portal.

The clipboard is closed when all portlets have been manually removed from the clipboard.
