# Import/export

Export allows the user to export the current settings in the portal including values and translations in the portal, tabs, portlets.. there is also an option to export the document folder structure.

NOTE that existing documents will be deleted when importing, so one can not export/import and expect to keep the documents inside the folder structure. **Import** allows the user to import a preconfigured portal from a .json file. When importing the system will ask the user to map the connectors used in the .json file to the corresponding ones in the current server.
