# Create an offline workflow

When developing an offline workflow, all machine steps that writes data to a system must be placed in a machine swimlane to be able to create offline transactions; start with creating a regular User workflow.\
 Add one swimlane to the workflow with the plus sign. Change the mode for one of the swimlanes to offline and the mode of the other swimlane to machine.
